How to Trace Cell Phone Numbers Free

Many people ask me if it is possible to trace cell phone numbers free of charge. While it is possible, the results are not always reliable. It's a bit like searching for a needle in a haystack. You have to hope that the registered owner posted their contact information online at some point. It could be on a blog, a website, a discussion group, or a social site like MySpace.

To start your search, simply go to an online search engine like Google and enter the cell phone number you wish to search for. Try entering the number in several different formats, such as:

Verizon Cell

555-555-5555

You can also try putting the number in quotes and search like this: "555-555-5555".

Of course, there's no guarantee that your search will turn up any results. But don't worry. There is another method you can try.

There are several websites that allow you to run a cell phone search for a small fee.

Why the fee? Because unlike residential numbers, there is no huge cell phone directory that can be searched for free. When you request a cell phone search from a website that specializes in reverse lookups, they directly access the databases of cell phone carriers like Verizon and AT&T in order to find what you need.

Because the carriers charge the lookup service a fee for accessing their records, they must pass the fee along to you. For this reason, I have never seen a legitimate lookup service that allows you to trace cell phone numbers free.

You can expect to pay about - for a single search. If you're expecting to look up more than one number, it would be wise to consider a lifetime membership to the lookup service so you can trace as many cell phone numbers as you want.
