Creating The Right Commission Structures For Your Salespeople

Commission structures are perhaps the best way to motivate employees to sell; they are direct rewards for salespeople. But with so many varied commission structures out there, the big question for retailers remains: What percentage of pay should be commission-based and what percentage should be salary-based?

All too often, commission structures in cellular retail aren't well conceived. Some retailers use fixed-rate commissions whereby a salesperson receives, for example, each time he/she sells a particular handset. This doesn't work.

Verizon Cell

In order to get the results you want, commission structures must be calculated as percentages. Retail executives need to decide upon a balance between how much to pay salespeople (per commission) and what they deem suitable compensation for their sales efforts (on top of their salary).

"To create a compensation package that's fair to both parties, consider what it is you are actually paying for," advises Keith Rosen, executive sales coach for Profit Builders, on his blog. "Focus on paying for the results... For example, what are you willing to pay for a 50 per cent increase in sales (or more)?"

Calculating the right commission structure isn't easy - it can be complicated. But it's important to consider the factors at play in your retail business. Rosen says calculating a salary-commission combination depends on a number of factors, such as your sales cycle, average sale (dollar amount), industry (in this case, cellular retail), local and state laws, cash flow, profit margins, how your company is set up (S-Corporation, C-Corporation, L.L.C, sole proprietorship), customer payment terms, the number of salespeople you need and whether or not there is some type of residual income that the salesperson makes on each sale.

"Ask your accountant or attorney what they feel the most appropriate compensation plan would be for your salespeople," adds Rosen.

Marcus Markou, Chairman of Dynamis, a London-based business publication and consulting company, says the trick to structuring sales commission is to strike a balance. "Create a commission structure that rewards team members on retaining customers but also (offers them the) incentive to sign up new customers."

Markou says an effective commission structure should be adjustable to how your business is going. He used to run a sales team for Dynamis and structured his staff's commissions separately, to encourage expansion - recurring customer revenue (1-3 per cent) versus 'new money' (10 per cent). As the company grew, the commission structure changed.

"Today, we are moving towards new structures that are more appropriate for a company becoming increasingly focused on new sales," he explains. "Ultimately, you have to come up with a structure that suits the culture of the company and supports what it is you're trying to do."

How To Flash A Phone To Cricket Or Metro PCs

Flash or Flashing--Technically, flashing refers to the overwriting or re-writing of the phone's firmware. There are many phones which can be flashed to cricket with all features working. On most CDMA phones, programming the phone can be done "over the air" by dialing a special code, usually *228 or some variation. Colloquially speaking, flashing can also loosely mean making a phone from one carrier work on another carrier. The easy way to tell the difference is that if your phone does NOT take a SIM card, then it is probably CDMA.

To flash a phone to cricket you will be overwriting th phones firmware. The firmware is software in the phone that doesn't change when you turn it off, and it cannot be deleted unless it is overwritten, hence flashed. It requires specific files called prl files.PRL or PRL File--Short for Preferred Roaming List--A small text file containing instructions for how a phone connects to a specific network's radio towers It is usually loaded by connecting the phone to a computer to overwrite its data. There are a few tools used such as a pst PST--Short for Phone Service Tool or Tools--Special software used by phone manufacturers to program their phones. And also a monster file - -"Monster File"/"Monster Pack", ROM, or "Kitchen"--System software that is needed to flash a phone.

Verizon Cell

In almost all case you will need to access the phones service programming menu- - -Service Programming Menu--A special menu typically hidden from the primary User Interface that allows for "deep programming" of a phone. You will also need access to msl and spc codes specific to the device you are flashing.MSL/SPC--Special six-digit codes needed to access service programming features on the phone. Access to the service programming menu can be disabled in a phone's firmware.

Depending on your phone, it may require extra steps to unlock or get WAP and MMS working. That is why you need the msl/spc codes to allow deep programming to unlock these features. Not all phones will be capable to access wap or send and receive mms.

Ringtones generally have to be prepaid using a flex bucket. It is best to download ringtones before you flash your phone to cricket since they have a limited selection of ringtones and wallpapers. There are cases were flashed phones will not be able to download ringtones directly from cricket.

The details outlined above will not only work with cricket but you can also flash phones to metro pcs using the information provided above. It is best to do all your research before purchasing your phone to ensure that the cell phone you are interested in can be flashed to cricket or metro PCs.

Need to Know Who a Phone Number Belongs To? Here is How

How many times have you found that you have someone's phone number but you need to know who the phone number belongs to? I have been in the situation. Some months back, I was trying to mail someone a gift but I only have their phone number. But luckily for me, I was able to get their address with the help of the phone number.

Did you call the owner to ask for their address?

Verizon Cell

No, I did not. There are some times you have a phone number but need to find out who the telephone number belongs to and you don't want to call back the number which was the case in my own situation.

So how do you usually find out who a phone number belongs to?

There are so many reasons as to why any one would want to find out who a phone number belongs to and there are as well many ways to find out who owns a telephone number. It is easier if the number in question is a listed land line number as there are directories on the internet that will let you enter a number and get the details of the owner provide the number in question is a listed land line number.

Does it mean these directories won't work for mobile and unlisted phone numbers?

Exactly, the public directories will never work for unlisted and mobile telephone numbers as there are privacy laws that prohibit telecommunication companies from listing the details of the owners of these type of telephone numbers on the public directories.

where can I find out who a mobile or an unlisted phone number belongs to?

There are a number of ways of finding out who owns a mobile or an unlisted telephone numbers. Some of these ways involves hiring a private detective, conducting a search on the search engines e.t.c but no one these methods work as much as finding and joining a paid reverse phone lookup directory.

Hiring a private detective seems effective, why are you condemning it?

I am not condemning or denying the fact that hiring a private detective is a good way of finding out who a phone number belongs to but you need to know that though this method works, it involves spending large amount of money to get the information you need. The amount we are talking about to here can be as large as 0.

what about using the search engines?

Using the search engines is a free way of finding out who a phone number belongs to but you need to know that the effectiveness of the search engines depend largely on if the number has been listed any where on the internet and if the number has been listed, you can not be totally sure that the information is the most complete and accurate information of the owner of the number.

What other method can I use?

The very best way to find out who owns a phone number is to find and join one of the top rated paid membership reverse phone lookup directories that are available on the internet. The very good ones among these directories are able to get you the complete information about the owner of a particular telephone number within secons.

what does it cost to use these directories?

The prices varies but to conduct a basic search, you will need something between to and to conduct a much more detail and comprehensive search you will have to spend something between and .

Verizon Reverse Cell Phone Directory - What You Need to Know

If you have tried the Verizon's reverse cell phone directory, you may have noticed that their search is limited to residential phone numbers.  Now, that's great if you are looking for landline home and business numbers, but what about cell phone numbers.  With mobile phones increasingly becoming the primary phone that people use, a viable Verizon reverse cell phone directory is becoming more of a necessity.

So, if Verizon doesn't actually have it's own directory that is available to the public, what are your options?  There are site now available online that can actually locate the owner information behind both mobile and unlisted numbers.  This includes name, address, map location of the address, wireless carrier, and previous owners of that particular phone number.

Verizon Cell

The only down side is that these sites charge a small fee for the results of these searches.  Why?  The reason is because wireless carriers, like Verizon, have now begun to sell the information maintained in their databases to these sites.  So, when these sites turn around and offer this information to the public, they have to pass on the charge.  Fortunately, the charge is fairly small and within almost anyone's means.

The upside to the wireless carriers directly providing this data to the online reverse directories is that you can be sure that the results you'll receive are both accurate and up to date.  The most reputable sites also offer the option to get your money back if you are not completely satisfied.  They operate available customer service departments that are responsive to questions or problems, and also offer the ability to do a free search to make sure the number you are looking for is maintained in their database.

So, in the end, when looking for a Verizon reverse cell phone directory, it really doesn't matter which mobile phone carrier the wireless number you are searching belongs to.  None of the carriers offer their own publicly available directory.  But, the best online  reverse cell phone directories offer information behind every major wireless carrier.  All you have to do is enter the phone number into a search bar within the website and you will be instantly notified whether that number exists in their database.  If it does, you will know where the number is located and can then make your decision whether to purchase the results.

Cell Tower Lease Rates

What are the cell tower lease rates where your potential cellular site is located? Evaluating cell site lease rates is difficult because there isn't much comparative data available to the public. What we can tell you about cellular lease rates is that the cellular carriers are all trying to save money, and they are not paying as much as they used to pay for rooftop and tower rentals a few years back.

Landlords and property owners are usually contacted by the carriers via third party site acquisition leasing companies who are paid for identifying sites and getting a lease signed at a new cell tower site. They are paid on the rental price and the terms that they can negotiate. The better the terms for the carrier, the more potential the leasing consultant has for making a larger bonus. Translated, the worse the deal is that they shove down your throat, the more money they make. If they tell you they are not paid on a schedule that rewards them for giving you a lower lease rate they are lying. The carrier leasing companies are also paid premiums for turning a lease around quickly.

Verizon Cell

So if you've been contacted to put a cell tower on your property or antennas on your rooftop the clock is ticking against you. You need to evaluate the offer and figure out if the offer they gave you is a fair one, mediocre one, or a low ball stinkin' bad offer. You also need to determine if the wireless carrier has any other choices where they can go in your neighborhood which would be a better location. That will determine the amount of leverage you have in the negotiation. You need to respond to them and you are almost always at a significant disadvantage. And they know that.

Of course, you can negotiate what seems to be a good deal on its face, and still end up with a dog of a deal if the you don't pay close attention to the telecom leasing terms and the confusing language. Chances are you are not a telecommunications legalese expert, and neither is your real estate attorney. Cell tower leasing rates vary from county to county within a state. In 2009 we negotiated several cell site leases with the same carrier in the New York City Metropolitan Area, and the leases negotiated varied from ,500 per month to ,000 per month. The difference in price had a lot to do with wireless ordinances and poor coverage in a critical area.

Here are samples of some recent cell tower lease rates we have seen offered initially to landlords in various parts of the country for tower leases and rooftop leases:

• New Jersey, T-Mobile ,500
• New Jersey, Clearwire ,100
• New Jersey, T-Mobile ,250
• New Jersey, Verizon Wireless, ,650
• New York, Metro PCS ,300
• Pennsylvania, AT&T 0
• Pennsylvania, Verizon Wireless 0
• Virginia, AT&T 0
• Los Angeles, T-Mobile ,300
• Houston, TX Clearwire 0
• San Diego, California ,400 T-Mobile

The cell tower leases offered to property owners are heavily tilted in favor of the carriers and are too burdensome for some. However in life and in the wireless leasing game there are two kinds of landlords, the quick and the dead. Don't get killed by the carriers on your cell tower leases. They have hired guns to get them the best deal possible. Shouldn't you?

Trace a Cell Phone Location - Try and Hide But it Won't Work Because This Will Expose You

The one thing that should make you feel better about getting a bunch of calls from an unknown number is the fact that you can trace a cell phone location. I am sure that you are probably thinking this is hard and complicated, but really it is not that hard or complicated at all to do. In fact you could probably find out who owns that number that has been calling in the same amount of time it would take you to read this article.

The key though, is having the right tools in order to get this information. Many people don't realize it when they call from a cell phone, but there is a way for people to find out who they are. Just because it is a cell phone number, it does not mean that you are entirely hidden. That is the biggest mistake that many of these anonymous callers make.

Verizon Cell

If you want to get them out of hiding and expose the caller for who they really are, then you will need to do a reverse phone lookup of the phone number that has been calling and calling you. These are done pretty easily online and the results are instant. No need to wait for a report to come in the mail or no need to talk to someone over the phone to get the results for you. Once you access one of these directories, you are automatically given this information. Information that most of the anonymous callers wished you did not have.

Verizon Wireless Reverse Phone Lookup Free?

Doing a Verizon wireless reverse phone lookup is no different than doing a T mobile or Sprint reverse cell phone look up. These services are all connected and work in the same manner, so do not get hung up on which provider you are looking for.

So you want to stop that prank caller right? That's understandable, but remember to use this information for only the good. What you are going to want to do here is actually open a new browser and go to Google and see what you can find that they have indexed.

Verizon Cell

So if you're looking for a cell phone users information then you will enter this in Google. Now I will say this method only has perhaps a 10-30% success rate, but its worth a try. Type in the number you are looking for with quotes, so it would look like "xxx-xxx-xxxx." This actually tells Google to only look for this exact number.

If you get a result you might not need a Verizon wireless reverse phone lookup or other service, because odds are if the number is listed then the users information is also. But if you came up with nothing then you are one of the unlucky ones who might need to use an actual reverse cell phone service. But don't worry, the services are instant and give you the info you are looking for right away.

I hope this information has helped you find the information you are looking for. Remember that you can always find the data you are looking for and there are different methods, you can check out a surefire way to do a Verizon wireless reverse cell phone lookup in my bio below. Good luck!

Prepaid Cell Phone Prices Drop - Good Time to Consider Prepaid

Boost Mobile set the wireless industry buzzing when it released its Monthly Unlimited Prepaid plan.  Industry insiders, experts, and CEO's started asking questions.

How could Boost afford this unlimited prepaid cell phone plans?  Would it break the back of the low cost wireless provider?  What does this mean for the other cell phone companies?

Verizon Cell

Many worried about a price war in the prepaid market, a situation where the prepaid companies would continue to lower prices while adding more services to their plans.  In order to compete, this would be necessary.

A price war came to fruition, and many prepaid companies have jumped into the fray.

One of the most impressive plans is Tracfone's Straight Talk plans, which comes in two "sizes."  One of them costs and includes unlimited talk time, unlimited text messages, and 30 mb of data use.  This undercut Boost's similar unlimited plan by five dollars.

The second Tracfone plan may be one of the best out there today.  For , subscribers get to use 1,000 minutes of talk time and 1,000 texts for a duration of 30 days.  When the 30 days is up-for both plans-subscribers just have to pay the fee again.  It can be set to autopilot and can be auto-debited so there are no service disruptions.  Both plans run on Verizon's network, which seems odd since they are competing companies, but it gives Straight Talk a leg up on a lot of the competition since Verizon has a very strong network.

MetroPCS and Cricket Lower Prices

MetroPCS jumped into the fight for more customers and market share by lowering the prices on its existing unlimited plans by .  This may help better position MetroPCS, which is a regional provider of cell phone service, against the other big dogs in the pay as you go market.

Leap Wireless, which runs prepaid cell phone plans through the brand name Cricket, has also added more services to its pay as you go offerings.  As you can see, it is currently buyer's market for prepaid phones.  You can find attractive plans at very affordable prices.

Some wireless providers earn much of their profits from add-ons or extras that current subscribers purchase after they have the phone and are signed up for a plan.  If you are careful and frugal, you will be able to avoid extra charges and continue to have a low monthly bill.  You may also have to purchase a new phone that works on the plan you decide to sign up for.

Verizon Replacement Phone - A True Story

Losing a cell phone can be a huge detriment to day to day life for many people, thankfully you can get a Verizon replacement phone if you are covered by their warranty or protection plans. A year ago I regrettably put my now ex girlfriends phone through the washing machine, completely destroying it beyond repair. Fortunately she was covered by Verizon's extended warranty and overnight was shipped a Verizon replacement phone to use. Unfortunately she did still lose all her contact information and stored data, but was able to keep the same phone number and only be unavailable to be called for a short period of time.

Without the coverage she would have been forced to buy a new phone at full retail cost (for most modern smart phones in the range of 9) and still be tied into the remainder of her Verizon contract. When you consider the .99 a month cost this makes it look like a good investment, on the assumption you are going to damage or have a phone stolen more than once every 6 years! I don't know many people who in the last 2 years haven't written off at least one phone to water damage or theft.

Verizon Cell

At the time the same model phone was not available (production had been stopped by that time), however a comparable model was offered and shipped out straight away and she was given a choice about what her options were as multiple comparable models were available. For the .99 a month it saved a lot of stress and heartache at damaging a phone or having it stolen. For anyone thinking that this might be a good way to get cheap upgrades I advise strongly against it as you will get hit for a deductible every time you make a claim, and are limited to 2 replacements in a 12 month period, not to mention the risk of being accused of insurance fraud!

The whole process of obtaining the Verizon replacement phone was all carried out online and was very painless. Alternatively there is a phone number you can call from any phone to carry out your claim. It should also be noted that if the phone becomes defective under the manufacturers warranty, it will be replaced by Verizon for free with a certified like-new replacement device. This is available to everyone, even if you are not enrolled in one of Verizon's protection plans. Full details of the Verizon replacement phone coverage and how to make a claim can be found on the Verizon website, and step by step instructions can be found in "my Verizon" section of your online account with Verizon.

Cell Towers and the Growing Demand For Cell Sites

There are over 200,000 cell towers in the United States and there is a growing demand for cellular coverage. Here's the little dirty little secret about the amazing cellular phone devices that have revolutionized the way people communicate... they all need cell towers to work properly.
Why are more cell towers needed? There are a couple of reasons.

1. Over 70% of the population in the United States owns a cell phone.

Verizon Cell

2. The cell phones of today are much different than the cellular devices of just a few years ago. You can send emails, listen to music, surf the internet all from your mini hand held personal communication device. It's like going from a two-lane road to a four-lane freeway.

3. The cellular industry wants your traditional desktop landline phone to become obsolete and for homes and businesses to go completely wireless in the future, hence the need for more cell towers and rooftop wireless sites - a LOT more.

4. There are additional wireless carriers entering into the marketplace that need to mount their antennas somewhere.

I'd like to focus on the fourth point, that there is increasing demand due to cellular carriers entering into the marketplace. In the New York City Metropolitan Area where I live, you can choose from Verizon Wireless, ATT Wireless, T-Mobile and Sprint-Nextel. Cingular became a part of ATT and Nextel became a part of Sprint. Yet, I didn't see any cell towers come down due to industry consolidation because of the demand for coverage.

Instead what we are seeing are two new wireless carriers entering the marketplace. Metro PCS and ClearWire Wireless are actively looking for site in New York and New Jersey. The problem is however that Sprint's Nextel antennas need to stay up in most cases and most cell towers simply can't support the additional carriers. These wireless companies have to deploy their antennas somewhere, so they either need to build new cell towers or deploy on existing structures or rooftops.

But there is another dirty little secret in the wireless industry that nobody is talking about.

Another issue that has not received much attention but I assume eventually will by the major media is the fact that two of the nation's largest wireless carriers who will remain nameless have been sitting on multi-billion dollar cellular licenses but have not been using them at all for building any new sites. Why would a carrier do this? Perhaps it has something to do with keeping the competition out of the industry?

If these cellular licenses became available they would certainly be purchased by companies looking to break into the wireless telecommunication industry. It would create more competition in the wireless industry, and lead to the lowering of prices which is a benefit to the consumer, and stimulate the economy by creating more jobs in the wireless infrastructure industry through the development of additional cell towers and rooftop cellular communication sites.

Activating Refurbished Cell Phones

Most consumers upgrade their cell phone every 1.5 years, on average.  The desire to have the newest and best model of cell phone on the market is largely responsible for the turnover, as well as lost and broken phones.  The benefit is that many people return perfectly good phones when they upgrade, meaning that people shopping in the used cell phone market can find great deals on phones that are newer models.  Since the technology for phones doesn't change very often, if you find a great deal, you can bet that the phone will last you for many years.

However, before buying a used cell phone, you have to make sure that you're shopping for a phone that is compatible with your current network.  There are two different "types" of technology being used on the North American networks - GSM and CDMA.

Verizon Cell

Phones that are on GSM networks have a small removable card, known as a SIM card, inside. Phones that are on CDMA networks do not have SIM cards. A GSM phone cannot be used on a CDMA network, just as a CDMA phone cannot be used on a GSM network.

Generally, the best deals on used cell phones are found through third party vendors, so be sure that you check to make sure the phone you are purchasing will work on your network.

Once you've purchase a used phone for your network, activating it is a breeze.  Here's how:

Phones on a GSM Network are very, very simple to activate.  Simply remove the SIM card from your old phone and place it in the back of the new phone.  Turn the phone on, and you're all set.  If you have problems removing the SIM card or installing the new one, check online - there are several articles and videos for specific phone models.  Alternatively, you can check with your service provider or third party vendor that you bought the phone from.

If you have purchased your used cell phone from another source, and it is not locked to another wireless provider, activating your phone is as simple as removing the SIM card from your former phone and placing it in your newly purchased phone. If you do not yet have a SIM card for your phone you'll need to either visit a mobile provider's store or call them and request a new SIM card.

CDMA network phones are identified by the phone's ESN number.  This is a unique number that is associated with your phone in your provider's database.  The number is usually found on the phone under the battery.  Simply get the ESN number for your old phone and your new phone and call your wireless provider.  After supplying them the proper information, you will be good to go and your new phone will be activated within minutes.

Activating a used phone is much easier than it used to be.  Following these simple steps should be all the information you need to be happily using your new phone in no time.

Cheap Verizon Phones

Cheap Verizon phones are available online for you to compare. There are three ways to get a cheap Verizon phone is by getting a cell phone with a contract, getting a basic cheap phone or getting a slightly used phone. Each of the options has its benefits.

First way that you can get get a cheap Verizon phone is by signing a twelve or twenty four month contract. It is one of the most popular options and you get a great mobile for free. The downside is that if you decide to cancel your service, your credit is not that good or you want to change to a different provider. In that case you were not be able to cancel your service unless you pay a penalty, which is around 0. If your credit is not that great then Verizon might also require you to pay a deposit and that can get pricey also.

Verizon Cell

Our second option is to just buy a basic phone without all the bells and whistles. If you just need a cheap Verizon mobile then this is your options. Get a mobile for what it was designed to do is to make phone calls. Verizon offers great cheap phones from Nokia, Samsung and LG. They are all great phones and some allow you to browse the web, take pictures with build in camera, calendar and place to keep all of your contacts.

Last options you have is to buy a cell phone slightly used. This is my favorite option to get a Verizon phone. I know I got some great smart phones on eBay for the fraction on what they were worth. We both know of people who just must have the newest gadget and they constantly upgrade their mobile. Before you go out there and look at spending your money on cell phone take a check out eBay or even Craigslist. If you know where to look you can always find a cheap Verizon phone.

Straight Talk Vs Boost Mobile Unlimited Prepaid Plans

Prepaid cell phone plans have become quite popular recently, as people have tried to cut back on expenses in more interesting ways. People who are trying to save money on household expenses inevitably turn to their cell phone bill as an area where they can cut some of the excess spending. As a result, people start to look at prepaid as a viable option because it often leads to savings.

Two plans are at the forefront of the prepaid marketplace: Straight Talk by TracFone and Boost Mobile Monthly Unlimited. Both companies have released very affordable Unlimited prepaid plans. Unlimited prepaid plans provide just what the title suggests--limitless talk time and text messages.

Verizon Cell

Here's how these two plans stack cup against each other.

The Straight Talk prepaid plan costs for unlimited talk time, text messaging, and 30 MB of data usage. There are a variety of phones available on the plan ranging in price from to 0. Straight Talk runs on the Verizon network, which gives it good coverage.

Boost Mobile Monthly Unlimited costs for all the talk time and text messages the subscriber may want to use. In addition, it includes unlimited wireless web use, nationwide walkie-talkie features between Boost Mobile users, and free mobile-to-mobile.

Straight Talk runs on the Verizon network, which is a big plus since Verizon has one of the strongest networks in America. There is also ample data usage available. The Straight Talk unlimited plan is five dollars cheaper than the Boost Mobile plan, which may factor into your buying decision as well.

The Boost Mobile Monthly prepaid plan may not boast a network like that of Straight Talk, but it has a sufficient one. Consider also that you get limitless wireless web for web surfing, so if you use your cell phone to access the Internet quite frequently, this could be a good thing for you. The walkie-talkie option is another free option that comes with this cheap Boost Mobile plan.

One good way to delineate which prepaid cell phone plan may be the better option is to find which wireless provider gets better service in your immediate area. This is a very important concern because nothing is more annoying than getting spotty service in your area of residence, where you will presumably use your phone the most.

Between the TracFone Straight Talk plan and the Boost Mobile, it really is difficult to choose a winner. They are very similar in price and in what they offer, although both plans have different strengths as noted earlier. Other ways to reach a decision on which plan to choose would be to check out phone selection and also figure out which elements of each phone plan better suit your particular needs.

Cell Phone Franchises - How You Can Start One Online - Just Like a T-Mobile Or Verizon Store

If you are in the market for a retail cell phone shop, or simply have dreams one day of owning your own wireless franchise, you may want to take a little time to investigate something revolutionary that has come down the pike in the cell phone industry. T-Mobile and a company called Liberty International have teamed up to offer budding and veteran entrepreneurs alike, the chance to open their own virtual franchise store without an investment.

The wireless phone market is highly competitive and profitable. New companies seem to be coming into the game all the time, and are offering deeper discounts on service plans and phones than many of the major carriers. This is why some companies are starting to get more imaginative in their approaches to attracting new customers.

Verizon Cell

A small business owner can make a pretty decent living in the mobile phone market these days. The problem is that for many people the costs of opening one are simply too prohibitive. Cell phone companies realize this, and feel that if they can appeal to the traditional entrepreneur and home based business crowd, then they may be able to tap into something that they hadn't thought of before.

This seems to be a win-win proposition for all involved. The small business owner with a dream of having his or her own business can now start one for free, and the major wireless carriers can grow and prosper. So, before you spend thousands of dollars opening up one of the cell phone franchises out there, take some time to check out this special online cellular opportunity.

Cell Phone Signal Boosters Vs Femtocells - Which One Is Right For You?

Ever missed a call because your phone was in and out of service and it only rang once before going to voicemail?  Constantly having to go to windows or outside to make a call? Tired of playing the "Can you hear me now?" game?  With more and more people opting to do away with their landline, reliable call quality and carrier service has never been more important.  So what can you do to improve your reception and stop dropping calls?

The most popular options are cell phone signal boosters and Femtocells.  Without going into too much detail, by the end of this article you should have enough information to decide which one is right for you.

Verizon Cell

Let us start by defining the two technologies.  Most wireless cell phone signal boosters (also called amplifiers and repeaters) work by capturing the signal outside, amplifying it, and then redistributing it inside.  This is done through 3 major pieces: an outside antenna (either directional or omni-directional), the amplifier, and the inside antenna (either directional or omni-directional).  The outside signal can be weak or strong, but must be present in order for the booster to operate properly.  In general, the weaker the signal outside, the more gain the amplifier needs to provide in order to offer adequate coverage inside.  Femtocells are basically miniature cell phone towers, about the size of a wireless router, that are provided by your wireless carrier and are installed in your home to provide coverage of up to a 40' radius.  They are essentially a Wi-Fi router for cellular and PCS frequencies.  Information is transmitted wirelessly from your phone to the femtocell, then from the femtocell to the carrier via your broadband internet connection.

Now let's get down to the purpose of this article.  The easiest way to decide which product is right for you is to take a look at the comparisons below.

Connectivity

Booster:  Dual Band models work with virtually all carriers except Nextel and other iDEN push-to-talk networks, although there are boosters made specifically for Nextel. Femtocell:  Only works with one specific service provider.  Ex. You are a Verizon Wireless subscriber. Provided there is little coverage by all carriers in your current location, installing a Verizon Network Extender will help you out but don't plan on your AT&T friends raving about excellent coverage when they stop over to watch the game.

Data

Booster: Dual Band models work with data plans for all carriers using 850/1900 MHz for their data.  This is most carriers, but does not include T-Mobile 3G Femtocell:  Supported data rates vary by carrier. Some femtocells do not support data at all.  Ex.  Verizon's Network Extender currently only supports 1X CDMA, not EVDO or 3G.  Generation 1 of Sprint's Airwave only supports 1X CDMA, not EVDO or 3G.  AT&T's microcell supports 3G data, but only works with 3G phones.

Multiple Users

Booster:  Most dual band wireless models support more than a handful of users so everyone can be talking or surfing at the same time. Femtocell:  Depends on the carrier.  Sprint's AIRWAVE allows up to 3 simultaneous users. Verizon's Network Extender supports up to 3 simultaneous users. AT&T's Microcell supports up to 4 simultaneous users.

Bandwidth

Booster:  N/A Femtocell:  Prepare to allot anywhere from 40Kbps to 300kbps of your upload and download bandwidth depending  on the number of active calls / data sessions.

Cost

Booster:  Basic Dual Band home coverage kits  can start as low as 5    Femtocell:  Anywhere ranging from free  (with a subscription to unlimited calling), to with a /mo fee, to a 0 one time fee.

Installation

Booster:  Installation of most cell phone signal boosters can be completed in anywhere from 1  to 4 hrs..  Mounting the outside antenna, mounting the inside antenna and running the cabling between everything is the most time consuming.  Amplifier and internal antenna placement are completely flexible. Femtocell:  Physically easier to install - requiring just a simple Ethernet connection to your existing router. However, most require a GPS lock in order to activate and confirm location, so it is advised to install next to a window.  However, it is also advised that they be placed in a central location for best coverage.  Raise your hand if you have windows located in the center of your home?

Boot Up Time

Booster:     N/A - once the amplifier is powered on you can make and receive calls. Femtocell:  Some femtocells require up to 60 minutes to set up and stabilize for the first time.  Subsequent power cycles take 10-15 minutes to stabilize.

Call Hand-Off

Booster:  N/A - a cell phone signal booster is an extension of the outside tower so you are essentially already connected to it when making and receiving calls.  There is no hand-off to take place.  If you are connected to a tower as you're driving up your street, you'll be connected to the same tower once in your home (just with a stronger signal) Femtocell:  Seamless call transfer to the tower as you leave the femtocell coverage area, but you're going to have to hang up and re-dial if you're entering the coverage area.

In summary, if you live in an area with absolutely no cell coverage, only affiliate with people who are using the same carrier as you, don't mind giving up some of your already-paid-for broadband bandwidth, will never have a need for 3 or more people to be on the phone at the same time and don't mind saying "I'll have to call you back, I'm at home now" then a femtocell might just be the solution for you.  However, if you want to provide great cell and data coverage to just about anyone who enters your home (regardless of carrier), value your already precious bandwidth, and don't mind rolling up your sleeves for a few hours to do the installation, then an installed Cell Phone Signal Booster may be the right solution for you.

Get Details About Anyone With A Reverse Cell Phone Search

There are a variety of reasons why you might want to investigate a certain phone number and find out details about its owner. A reverse phone lookup will give you details about the name, address and background information of anyone who owns any phone number.

This can come in handy in many different ways -- you might want to know who keeps prank calling you or whose number is constantly showing up on your spouse's cell phone. Whatever the reason, a reverse phone lookup will give you the details you need.

Verizon Cell

There are businesses that buy access to all the phone records that are out there (including unlisted, business and cell phones) and then build databases of these records for people to search through.

The good news is that this new breed of services is able to access just about any number in the country. The databases they access include cellular and unlisted phone numbers. Even fax numbers are included.

The not so good news is that these services are not free. You see, cell phones and unlisted numbers are not public information like landline numbers are. So in order to build their databases of information, reverse lookup websites have to pay a fee to access the information. Since they have to pay for the information themselves, they obviously can't give it to you for free.

Just like caller ID and call waiting, a reverse phone lookup is something you have to pay for. If you go to a reverse search website, you can pay for a membership. When searching a number with a membership, you can do a whole bunch more than just retrieving the name of the caller. You can actually perform background checks and kind of be a private detective with all the information that you can access. No longer do you have to wonder who the unknown caller is when you see it on your caller ID.

How to Save Money on Your Cell Phone Bill?

As you open up your monthly cell phone bill, or view it online you ask the age old question, how can I save some money on this monstrous bill? You're not alone; many people alike are asking the same question. Here are some quick tips guaranteed to save you some green.

With many different plans out there, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and ACN, you can build a plan that is right for you. Simply checking with you provider you can ask them to check your internet, minute and text usage, if you don't fully use all these services then you can adjust your current plan to a lower monthly plan. The great thing about this is it won't cost you a penny, and you won't have to extend or restart a new two-year contract.

Verizon Cell

If your credit is down n the dumps, one good idea is to opt for a pre-paid phone. Mostly all big time wireless carriers and a few low name carriers provide pre-paid service. An advantage to having pre-paid is that they don't check your credit and you don't need to sign a two year contract agreement. Do some shopping around and choose the company wisely as all different carriers charge different fees.

Simple things like checking your voicemail from a land line can make your minutes go the extra mile, which in turn if you stay within your minutes will save you from getting ridiculous fees in overages. Another way to save money on your cell phone bill is opting for the family plan. T-mobile is offering great promotions on the family plan, and many other providers are doing the same, so take advantage of the great deals. Try these simple tricks and you'll be guaranteed to save lots of money.

If you don't have a clue about how to save money on your cell phone bill, then I would suggest you go to telecomsecretsrevealed.com.

Flashing Cell Phone Batteries

Flashing cell phone batteries are those that illuminate light emitting diodes whenever the phone rings or is in use. There are many types of flashing batteries available in the market such as lithium ion batteries and nickel cadmium batteries.

These batteries are designed to provide the user with a visual signal instead of the normal ring as an indication of incoming calls. Another fringe benefit of such batteries is that they can be located in the dark and are visually amusing. Almost all the companies in the market sell these types of batteries on the Internet and at stores where you buy cell phones and cell phone accessories.

Verizon Cell

Some designs available in the market include flashing white lights, oval colors, multicolor circles, red flowers, and red fireworks. The price of a flashing battery varies according to the type of LED'S (light emitting diodes) that is used in it. The prices vary from to according to the color and design of the LED's. All flashing batteries are sold with a transparent cover so that the flashing lights are clearly visible. These LED powered batteries can also be a suitable gift for cell phone users who like fancy accessories with their phones.

Cell phones can become an annoyance when they start ringing at the wrong time in the wrong place. The incessant ringing of a cell phone in a library, hospital, and theater or in some profession settings, can be distracting, especially because silence or, at least, quiet ambience, is required in such places. Flashing cell phones provide the perfect solution for such scenarios and are much better than vibrating phones because flashing cell phone batteries can be kept anywhere in a room as opposed to vibrating features, which must be kept near the user to be effective.

Other advantages of such batteries include the long life span of LEDs (almost ten years), durability, and insensitivity to vibrations. These batteries are definitely here to stay and are becoming popular because of the advantages that they provide to the user as well as the non-user by reducing noise pollution from cell phone ringtones.

How To Make Money in the Cell Phone Business

If you are thinking about trying to make some extra money without taking on a second job somewhere outside of your home, why not stop and consider trying to make money off of the mobile/cell phone business? There are several different things that you can do to make money with cell phones. For instance you could become an authorized reseller for a cell phone provider or you can sell accessories. Below are a couple of things that could help you bring in some extra cash.

1. Authorized Cell Phone Retailer - There are cell phone companies out there that will allow, under contract, like Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and U.S. Cellular, for people to become retailers or outside sellers of their mobile phones. All you have to do is to get a hold of their business divisions and find out exactly what you need to do to be able to get started doing something like this for their company. You won't be starting blind either, all of these companies will more than likely have who they call a "Master Agent" to help you get set up and ready to sell the phones and offer a variety of services to customers.

Verizon Cell

2. Sell Cell Phone Accessories- Most people who have cell phones, especially good ones are always wanting accessories for them. You can easily set up your own accessories shop right online and you don't even have to have any Internet knowledge at all. You can just go to Volusion and use the software there to set up your own store on their server. If you don't want to do it through the internet you can set up a small stand or kiosk at your local mall. Here you can sell a variety of things like cell phone covers, cell phone chargers, car chargers, Bluetooth headsets, etc. You can easily find a variety of different things to sell by simply getting in touch with cell phone accessory wholesalers. Two different wholesalers you can check with are NuCourse and Tessco.

3. Selling Unlocked GSM Devices- It's called the "Unlocked Market" and what this is, is non-carrier provided phones or phones that are not specific to just one carrier and will work with several different carries. Of course these phone are a lot more expensive but may be well worth it for a lot of different people. These phones also are able to get worldwide coverage for their users. These phones are sold by companies like Plemix and Brightpoint.

4. Affiliate Marketer- You can join popular affiliates like Commission Junction and Linkshare which back a lot of the different phone providers. If you create a website or blog that is geared towards cell phone communications, you could add these affiliate programs to your website or blog. This means that if anyone clicks on these links and then buys something you will make a percentage of the sale.

If you decide to do this however, make sure that you believe in the product or products that you are trying to sell. It is easy to figure out whether or a not a person believes in a product. Consumers are not stupid.

Verizon Reverse Phone Lookup

Verizon is an American-based broadband and telecommunications company which also offers a reverse phone lookup service via one of their website pages. This type of search is very similar to many of the different companies that offer this service and it works in much the same way.

Firstly all you need to do is head to the website armed with the 10 digit phone number you wish to do a search upon. Simply enter that number into the search box provided and then hit the search button.

Verizon Cell

A computer back at the main website server that Verizon uses will then begin to search through millions of pieces of information on their database. When an exact match is found to be 10 digit number you typed in your begin the results.

The results will often include your telephone numbers owner, name and address. It may also include the telephone service provider, the status of the line and maybe some extra personal information such as an e-mail address that matches the telephone.

You may run into problems if you are attempting a reverse search with a cell phone number. Cell listings usually fall under the unlisted directory numbers and sometimes cannot be searched for. However there are several other website services that you can use to trace and search any type of number, even if it is an unlisted or cell phone.

These private companies have often paid cell phone service providers directly to access their databases of names and addresses of registered users. Once these have been collaborated you can search them as easily as when you do a Verizon reverse phone lookup.

Verizon Reverse Phone Lookup - Track a Phone Number Through Verizon

Cell Phone Signal Boosters and 4G: What You Need To Know

The term 4G appears to be the "buzz" word for Q4 of 2010. So what is it? 4G refers to the fourth generation of cellular wireless standards. It is an heir to 3G and 2G standards, with the goal of providing a wide range of data rates, up to ultra-broadband (gigabit), to mobile as well as stationary users. Pre-4G technology is currently being deployed in a number of major US markets. The purpose of this article is to inform you of what 4G is and is not and how cell phone signal boosters will integrate with 4G.

The term 4G is a little confusing, but I will try to break it down as simply as possible. As defined by ITU-R (International Telecommunication Union - Radiocommunications sector) 4G is to provide data rates of up to 100Mbps for mobile devices and up to 1Gbps for stationary devices. Current networks marketed as 4G are not truly 4G. Verizon's 4G LTE network, which is to roll out in 38 major cities by the end of the year and cover roughly 100 million people, will only support 5-12Mbps on the downlink. While this is a far cry from the required 100Mbps to be considered true 4G it is still roughly 5 to 10 times better than the average 1Mbps downlink currently available with EV-DO. Sprint's 4G network, based on WiMAX, offers realistic download speeds of roughly 4 Mbps. Again, not true 4G. True 4G speeds are not expected to be reached until the release of LTE-Advanced for Verizon, AT&T, and others or WiMAX 2 for Sprint. These true 4G technologies are still in ITU approval process are not expected to be deployed for at least another 2-3 years.

Verizon Cell

Thinking about purchasing a dual band cell phone signal booster but not sure about how 4G will fit into the picture? Because almost all commercially sold dual band cell phone signal boosters today work in the 850 and 1900 MHz range, they will not work with emerging 4G LTE or WiMAX technologies, which are 700 MHz (Verizon 4G and eventually AT&T 4G) and 2.5GHz (Sprint 4G) respectively. They will also not work with the AWS 1700MHZ and 2100MHz frequencies used by T-Mobile 3/4G. However, here are some points to consider if you're thinking about purchasing a cell phone signal booster but are on the fence about how 4G fits into the picture:
4G and the new frequency bands will be used mostly for data, with voice still being transmitted in the 850MHz or 1900MHz range. If you use your phone as a phone and don't have a data plan or use Wi-Fi for data, you don't have to worry about the booster not working or becoming obsolete. This may not be the case with all carriers so it is best to call your carrier and see what frequencies they use for voice in your specific area. 4G is not compatible with 3G or older phones. You will need to purchase a new phone if you plan on taking advantage of 4G data speeds. However, 4G phones will be backwards compatible with 3G networks, so if you travel outside of your 4G city you will still have access to 3G data speeds. Slow 4G rollout. According to Verizon's website, they do not plan on having 4G coverage to match their existing 3G coverage for another 3 years. If you live in a rural area and don't currently have 3G coverage, you shouldn't expect 4G coverage for at least another 2 - 3 years if at all. AT&T is still focusing on upgrading its 3G network and does not plan on rolling out 4G LTE until sometime in 2011, and just like with Verizon, you'd better plan on waiting a while longer if you don't live in a major metropolitan area. Limited 4G phone selection. Most of the demand for 4G is coming from businesses, not consumers. With that in mind, carriers will be focusing on developing reliable 4G laptop solutions before focusing on affordable 4G phones for consumers. Expect maybe 1 or 2 phone models per carrier to choose from until 4G has been fully deployed.

If you came across this article you more than likely do not live in a major metropolitan area, as big cities generally have excellent cell phone coverage, and you wouldn't be searching for information on cell phone signal boosters. So you'd like to purchase an installed cell phone signal booster, but want to make sure that you're not going to have to replace your 0+ investments in another couple years? It is safe to say that if you do not live in a major metropolitan area and you do not currently have 3G in your area, or it took your carrier a couple years to get 3G coverage to you, a dual band 850MHz/1900MHz cell phone signal booster will not become obsolete any time soon.

Additionally, while there are band specific amplifiers on the market, I am currently not aware of any tri-band or quad-band boosters that will work with all carriers and all data technologies. Inevitably, as 4G LTE and WiMAX start to catch on, cell phone signal booster manufacturers will start developing compatible boosters. You simply can't defeat physics and no matter what new cell phone technology emerges there will always be a need for cell phone signal boosters for some people.

Unfortunately, if you plan on jumping on the 4G bandwagon as soon as it comes to your area and find that your signal strength isn't what you hoped it would be there currently isn't much you can do to improve your 4G data. You'll just have to wait until cell phone booster manufacturers release an affordable multi-band booster. On the plus side, if you already have a dual band booster installed in your home, the cabling used to connect your antennas to your amplifier will be compatible with 4G boosters. Just purchase a new 4G booster and antennas (once available) that are specified for your existing cable (usually either 75 Ohm Coax or 50 Ohm Coax) and you're good to go. There is no need to spend hours running new cable.

iPhone Going to Verizon - Is It a Good Idea?

For months rumors have circulated concerning the possibility that the popular iPhone would be available on the Verizon network. The rumors are now confirmed to be true, and many consumers are happy the iPhone is going to Verizon. Verizon is the second carrier to host the iPhone. The iPhone 4G Verizon release date is scheduled for February 10, 2011, and existing Verizon customers can pre-order the phone on February 3, 2011. Many industry experts believe one of the major reasons for the move to the new network is the increased competition Apple is receiving from Android.

The iPhone 4G Verizon version is not very different than the version available on the AT&T network. The most notable difference is Verizon users will not be able to talk on the phone and use the web at the same time because of the limitations of the technology Verizon uses. Unlike AT&T, the new iphone 4G Verizon version will not support 4G LTE Network. It will instead be supported by CDMA - Verizon's 3G network.

Verizon Cell

The iPhone going to Verizon doesn't change the price of the device. Customers will be able to get the iPhone 4G Verizon version for 0 for the 16-gigabyte version and 0 for the 32-gigabyte model. These are the same prices charged by AT&T. Verizon is keeping a tight lid on the phone and data plans that will be available to customers.

Users who have anticipated the iPhone going to Verizon are hoping they will not experience the same problems with drop calls that many AT&T customers have experienced, especially in major cities. Verizon states that it has custom built its network to accommodate the new customers they expect to receive. Industry experts are estimating that approximately 1.4 million people will switch from AT&T.

Although little has changed with the new phone, customers are ecstatic about the opportunity to buy the iPhone 4G Verizon version. With all of its issues, it is still one of the most innovative phones on the market, and the new changes will make it even more popular. Consumers have anticipated the iPhone 4G Verizon release date and now that it is here, people are ready to buy.

Cell Phone Signal Booster Review

Don't you just hate it when you're talking on your cell and all of a sudden the call is dropped? You're at work and taking an important business call, and you lose the signal because your cell phone network isn't the best. You are in great need of a cell phone signal booster, attach it to your phone and you'll not loose calls. You won't have to say the words "Can you hear me now?" ever again.

A cell phone signal booster is a powerful signal amplifier. The booster is so small; it can fit right into the palm of your hand, perfect if you have limited space. A lot of call areas have weaker signals; the amplifier will boost a weak signal, and connect you to places you were not able to reach before. If you are having reception problems a cell booster will help you get a stronger signal, and you will have better call quality. Cell boosters work along with your cell phone provider to allow you to have an enhanced signal.

Verizon Cell

You are now convinced that you do need a cell booster for your phone. You want to receive a better signal, and get more coverage. First you need to find the right place to shop for your phone booster. There are many boosters, amplifiers, and antennas on the market, but where do you find the best made, best quality, at reasonable prices. Online there are several really good sites you can visit to collect information on which booster is the best to purchase. Wilson Electronics, Inc. is highly rated for their product line of boosters. There are in building, residential, vehicle, and even boat and RV amplifiers/boosters. Mobile phone boosters are made to improve your signal while traveling. In- building boosters help improve signals behind walls. If you have a cell phone from Verizon, Cellular One, US Cellular, Telus, ALLTEL, Bell Canada, Sprint, or T-Mobile, then Wilson products will work with your phone. Nextel cell phones are not supported by Wilson. Wilson sells their mobile cell phone signal boosters for around 0 to 0 each. An in-building booster system will run you 0 or above.

Whichever type or brand of cell phone signal booster you choose to purchase, all work very well. You should have more bars, better reception, no dropped calls, and a stronger signal when using a booster/amplifier.
